Having been largely immersed in commercial client focussed design for well over a decade at the point of discovering the CryptoArt / NFT scene it was a refreshing change to be able to start exploring my own creative concepts in depth again for the first time since university. I had been casually producing artwork using VR based software in my spare time for around 2 years before joining Know Origin Gallery but hadn’t found a way to monetise that purely digital artwork - the CryptoArt Community provided that opportunity and during 2020 / 2021 I minted and sold a series of ArtWorks through Known Origin Gallery that really pushed the VR software I was using to create with to it's limit.
For this piece I hand painted the body of a HummingBird in 3D space using Tiltbrush - skeleton, organs & plumage. I wanted to explore the world of this hummingbird inside and out and the audio track Full Bloom by Spanish Producer SkyGaze is a perfect accompaniment to this colourful trippy VR Art piece.
As a huge Dune Fan I wanted to craft my own vision of Frank Herbert's science fiction universe and pushed Tiltbrush to the limit of its capabilities with this epic piece which grew into a collaboration with fellow digital artist Spaced Painter. We used the superb track NOMAD by French Dance Music Producer EXTRA TERRA to accompany this fantastical vision quest.
For DRACUL i collaborated with Spaced Painter after discovering we had a shared love for Vampires in our youth. We had a specific vision in mind and had a lot of fun bringing it to (eternal) life. This was the first big sale that we both made in the NFT space, bought by prominent Art Collector Moderats almost immediately after being minted. Dracul also features an incredible audio track by French EDM Producer - EXTRA TERRA.
Originally inspired by conversations within the Crypto / NFT & Web 3 Space regarding the future of work this piece is an homage to all the office workers of todays world who while away so many hours of their lives for 'the man'. Featuring a superb soundtrack by Oliver Emanuel > AKA > Triple Skull Detonator.
Another collaboration with Spaced Painter, this piece was inspired by a trip we took to a private woodland in the Mendips (UK) near Dolebury Warren. Again we really pushed TiltBrush to the limit of its capabilities in creating this epic trippy cosmic horror themed artwork. In order to create an enhanced sense of immersion we also recorded elements of the audio track on location.
