I started this concept with a tip-o-the-hat to GUNDAM - BITCOIN had to be the big bad original coin with an air of nobility, the deep reds and gold trim. BITCOIN Evangelists can come across as snooty and aloof to the rest of the crypto community in a similar way to 'FULL FRONTAL' in the GUNDAM Unicorn show.
And in contrast to BTC we have the young upstart ETHEREUM which I intended to be more reminiscent of the GUNDAM Unit, certainly in the face, although I wanted it to have a more old-school gundam Mecha look to make way for ETH-2.0 which was very much on the horizon at the time.
MODERATS is a mysterious WHALE who may or may not be one or more persons, that’s a rumor I heard but cannot confirm or deny its validity. They have a fantastic collection of NFTs and are certainly legendary in the cryptoart space. MODERATS has collected my work extensively for which I shall be eternally grateful, I simply had to dedicate a CryptoMecha to them.
WHALESHARK is another extremely prolific WHALE in the CryptoArt Space, famous for collecting many thousands of NFTs, creating a vault to store them in and an entire community around said vault including the $WHALE Token which is distributed amongst members. Their avatar remains based on an AVASTARS NFT they collected way-back-when which has a steampunk vibe to it that inspired this CryptoMecha.
The legendary SPACEDPAINTER has been a frequent collaborative partner in more ways then I can describe here and I was very happy to bring their Cyborg looking CryptoVoxels avatar to life as one of my CryptoMechas.
ETHEREUM 2.0 was a long time in the making and everybody was very excited about the possibilities it would bring around the time I created these characters. I wanted to upgrade it from the original ETH Mecha design and took design inspiration from the ZONE OF ENDERS console game series.
